In his Arthashastra Kautilya prescribed procedure to ensure privacy in consultation with his ministers. Though we come across certain legislative provisions for the protection of privacy interests such as Section 509 of the Indian Penal Code, Section 18 of the Indian Easement Act (1882), Section 26, 164 (3) and 165 of the Criminal Procedure Code (1898). We find that the term ââ¬ËPrivacyââ¬â¢ is not legislatively defined. Nor do we find any definition of this term in the judicial pronouncement. Though right to privacy has not been mentioned in the chapter of Fundamental Rights under the Indian Constitution but its value have been recognized and emphasized by Justice Subha Rao in Kharak Sigh vs. U. P. and Justice Mathew in Govind vs. M. P. Right to privacy has been called out of the provisions of Article 21 and other provisions of the Constitution relating to Fundamental Rights read and with Directive Principles of State Policy. It was in this context held by the court in Kharak Sing vs. State of U. P. that police surveillance of a person by domiciliary visit would be violative of Article 21 of the Constitution. Women s Shelter And North York Woman s Resource Centre
Introduction In this paper, I compare and contrast two women-based organizations, Nellieââ¬â¢s Womenââ¬â¢s Shelter and North York Womenââ¬â¢s Resource Centre and provide a critical analysis of their structure through community engagement concepts. The paper focuses on critiquing the mandate of the two organizations, how they are similar and differ in their mandate, as well as identifying the problem that lies within. Additionally, I also critique the organizationsââ¬â¢ source of funding and how it can be detrimental to their existence. Organizations are often seen as a catalyst for social change but they can also be problematic, which can hinder the occurrence of a revolution that is aspired. The world is entrenched in a perpetual search to become a better place: trying to advance technology and society to reach high standards. It is continually working towards perfection with an end goal of achieving a utopia. However, the end goal may never be reached because after all, most utopias become dystopias. Utopias are meant to be impeccable societies with perfect life and people. The downfall is that the quality of flawlessness is not attainable. There are selfish people everywhere who take what they are given for granted .
